Dinosaurs Really Were Mean

According the New York Times, the Discovery Channel's four-part "Dinosaur Planet" is blessedly free of any hints that dinosaurs were cute and cuddly. Instead, DC gives us "a well-written and grimly fascinating series about heartlessness and violence ... The show fights the tendency to anthropomorphize the dinosaurs or make their plights uplifting," opting for "tales of unrelenting predation: stalking and blood with scant suspense." Cool. Even cooler ... the narrator is Christian Slater. I'll tune in Sundays at 8:00 for that.
